Dear Debbie, Michael and Leah: It is with deepest sympathy that I send my condolences to you, and your respective families. The loss of your mother has also touched those of us who knew her and who care about her children. I am sure that she rests with God and that she has been reunited with your father. I hope that the wonderful memories that you have of your mother will help to ease the pain that you are now feeling. You are all loved. Please be gentle with yourselves at this most difficult time. I was saddened to learn of your mother's passing, and am sorry that a prior commitment will prevent me from attending her funeral today. Mom was President of Hadassah Council when I first came to London and I remember her well as a leader there. I also worked with her in the Or Shalom kitchen, helping to prepare for a USY regional convention here in London - I think that would have been in the late 1970s. Both then and in later years, I have always admired her calm, quiet attitude to things, her never-failing gift of leading by her own example of hard work and her genuine interest in and caring for everyone and everything. She was a truly rare individual and will be much missed. My thoughts are with you all at this sad time. Sincerely Susan Merskey
