I was saddened to hear about Bob's passing. Although I haven't seen "Gripper" for several years, it doesn't dimminish my affection for him. He was a gentle, easy-going, and SO funny! One of my favourite colleagues! My sincere condolences. Jane Irwin

I worked with Bob at Emily Carr Public School. He greeted each day with a smile and his kind and gentle manner set such a wonderful tone to the day. He appeared quiet when you first met him and then that wonderful sense of humour would show through. I am so glad I had the chance to work with him even though it was only for a short time. My thoughts are with the family at this time.

Dear Marguerite, I am so sorry I will be unable to attend the visitations and service for Bob. I remember this kind, gentle man who taught beside me at Emily Carr.I often remember his habit of combing his hair every time he entered a building from the outdoors with great fondness. What a lovely memorial to Mr. G. who enjoyed his field trips to the great outdoors near Goderich with our grade 6 classes. My sincere condolences to you and your family from Don and myself. June

I just wanted to let you know I am very sorry for your family's loss. I only met Bob briefly while he was my patient on C7, but you spoke so fondly of him, I can only imagine what an amazing guy he was. I was there when his golf buddies came to visit, and after seeing them leave the room I knew he had touched their lives in such a way that he will never be forgotten. I'm lucky to have known him, despite the circumstances, and I'm sure that he's found the greenest course to swing his clubs on now. Taryn (I know you saw a lot of nurses during Bob's stay. I was the one who's Grandparents live in Wallaceburg.)

We knew Bob as a baseball team member, a golf on Thursday buddy, a fellow teacher, and a teacher of our son at Northridge. We were always heartened by his kindness and his ability to lighten our lives with humour. He was one of our favourites. Please accept our sincere condolences.
