Obituary of Shirley Elizabeth "Woody" Moore

Woody passed away with dignity after a long and eventful life. Loving wife of the late Jake Moore (1997) and survived by her children John, Louise, Peter (Lorraine), Penny (Henri Mestrallet), and Nancy (Al Slater), ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.Throughout her life, Woody was an active community volunteer, involved for many years with The May Court, Merrymount - Family Support and Crisis Centre, proud supporter of the London Art Gallery and Museum London, Parkwood Institute and numerous charities. Her wit, strength of character, laughter, and generosity will be dearly missed by all. Her enthusiasm for travelling and discovery led to countless unique adventures with Jake, her family and friends. Art, food and wine played an important role in these excursions. She enjoyed her Wednesday bridge group where fortunes were won or lost, pennies at a time. In her last years, Woody was happiest recalling fond memories from her varied life experiences. The family would like to thank the caregivers, neighbours, and friends who have been so helpful and supportive during the last few months. The celebration of her life will be held at Museum London on October, 30, 2017 (it would have been her hundredth birthday) from 4-6 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Museum London (519-661-0333) www.museumlondon.ca or Parkwood Institute (519-646-6085). Online condolences can be expressed atwww.loganfh.ca.
