Dear Lou, I just saw the notice of your Mum's death in the Globe and Mail. I have such fond memories of both your parents - lovely times on St. James and in the country, their fabulous art collection. They gave us our first print as a wedding gift (your Mother asked if we wanted something yellow or green. We chose yellow). She introduced me to asparagus, for which I am forever grateful. You have been a wonderful and caring daughter to her, and I am sure you will miss her. (I can't see this message, so please excuse typos, spelling formatting. I also don't have your contact details as David and I are driving across Canada at the moment - just arrived in Saskatoon - heading for Victoria to spend a fe weeks with Robyn, Martina and 18 month old Noah..) Come visit us!. xoxo

I was only there 3 days but in that short time I had the pleasure of spending time with a very special lady.

I am one of the granddaughters of Irene Hooper (nee Wood). I remember Aunt Betty (technically a great aunt) as the most lovely and gracious woman. It was always special to have her and Uncle Jake attend one of our Hooper family events. They were the most sophisticated members of our family! and Granny loved her little sister... My warmest condolences to the family.
