I was stunned to hear of cousin Jacks passing. I spent a lot of time at his parents home on 85 Empire St. every summer. Time and distance has kept me from away from London as an adult. His mum was my mum's niece and we visited frequently. I have kept in touch with his Aunt Daisy and I spoke with him several months ago when he answered her phone. I"m grateful for that. I called her on March 30th several times but there was no answer. I called again on April 6, the other day and she let me know Jack was gone. Daisy can't give me anyone's number, she is too feeble. I hope someone in my family will call me. I tried to call Wayne and Mary many times in the past week but no answer. I am so sorry to hear this, so sudden, just shocking. I miss you all my Canadian Cousins. Love and Healing, Cousin Liz

to Diane and the all the Thornton boys .. I can't express how sorry I am at the passing of Jack Sr.. he was always so fit and full of life, and was truly a warm and funny guy with a real zest for life .. I always enjoyed our visits when he would pop in at my place of work just to shoot the breeze. Treasure the memories, keep telling the stories and eventually the tears will turn to smiles! your friend T-Bone

Jack was our driver at the funeral of our mother and grandmother this past winter. We didn't know him from before that day, but we will always remember how friendly and kind he was to us during that most difficult time. We understand that a great many people were blessed as we were to experience Jack's kindness during their difficult moments. May he rest in peace and may his memory be eternal. We pray for strength and peace for his family and friends.

We can't imagine how you all must be feeling. Jack was always the picture of health and vitality, so his death has come as a shock. Jack was a dear and long-time friend of my father, Ken Armstrong, and was so good and so kind to him and to our entire family. There are no words that can describe how much this meant, especially in these later years when my dad's geriatric behavioural disorder made itself obvious and, I'm sure, it became difficult to continue being a friend. I remember you both, Diane, at my mother's funeral almost 10 years ago. You were both so kind to our family, and it seems like just yesterday. I'm so relieved that I made an effort to stop in to see you last fall after my father was hospitalized. You were, again, both so kind and offered food and refreshment after a long and difficult day. You were so proud of your yard and I enjoyed taking that time with you in your beautiful garden. There is nothing to be done now but to bear this loss of a good and kind man. You have our most sincere condolences.
