Obituary of Ross Hadley Cole

Ross Hadley Cole passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022, at the Dearness Home in London, ON. Ross was the son of the late Marion (née Duncan) and Hadley Cole of Sarnia, ON. He leaves to mourn his wife Julie, daughters Laurie and Sarah (Simon), grandchildren Ella, Jillian, Nolan and Samuel, along with his brother Brian Cole, sister-in-law Marie Burden (Woodrow) and brothers-in-law Andrew (Jaunita) and Donald (Brenda) Colbourne. Ross will also be missed by extended family in Ontario and Newfoundland, and all the friends who supported and encouraged Ross and Julie in recent years as Ross struggled with declining health. He was pre-deceased by sisters-in-law Jane and Ethel Colbourne. Ross never lost his positive outlook on life and spent little time complaining about things, despite some significant medical challenges. He mentored his daughters, who both followed his career paths. He was always quick to direct the kids to use proper English grammar, but lost the battle to teach his wife to drop the Newfie way of speaking. Ross enjoyed a long career with Veterans Affairs Canada and was active in his community, including as member of Chalmers Presbyterian church. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 7th at 11:00 a.m. at the Evans Funeral Home, (648 Hamilton Road, London, ON) followed by a celebration of life reception.
