Obituary of William "Bill" Alexander McCoy
At Elgin Abbey Nursing Home in Chesley, ON, on Friday, May 23rd, 2014, William "Bill" Alexander McCoy of London.
Bill was born on October 1, 1932 to his late parents William Andrew and Lillian May (nee Davis) McCoy. Beloved husband of the late Helen Rose McCoy (April 9th, 2005). Loving and caring father of Kathleen Lillian McCoy and her late husband Bob McIntire (2011) and grandson Richard James Losch. Paul William McCoy and his wife Janet and grandchildren Carly Anne and the late Christopher Paul (1984). Michael Allen McCoy and his wife Teresa, grandchildren William Charles and Emily Ann and great-grandson Nicholas McCoy. Mary Ellen Sharp and her partner Adrian Legge, grandson Nicholas Edward and his wife April Elder and great-grandchildren Ivy, Sophia and Ryker Sharp. David Joseph McCoy and his wife Kimberley and grandchildren Calvin Avery and Sheila Mae. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Samuel, Ronald, Harry and his surviving wife Betty McCoy of London.
Bill was a man who not only loved his hockey and baseball but also loved being involved within his community. He was a member of R.S.E.S. for over 50 years and was Past-President in the London Chapter. Bill was also a member of UA Local #787 and was involved with the Boys and Girls Club of London for over 20 years.
Visitation will be held at Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Rd., (1 block east of Egerton St.) on Wednesday, May 28th, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service for Bill will follow in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Woodland Cemetery. Donations to Parkinson’s Society or Charity of Choice would be acknowledged by the family.
