Obituary of David James Robinson
July 30, 1943 - April 14, 2016
Peacefully surrounded by loving family at Victoria Hospital on Thursday, April 14, 2016 in his 73rd year. Beloved husband and best friend of Diane; predeceased by devoted wife "Cathy" (Cathalina Smits-2011), brother Ron Robinson (2015), grandchildren Joshua David (2002) and Andrew David (2004). Survived by his mother Evelyn Grace (Fletcher), sister Bonnie Robinson; children Gary (Shari) Robinson, Connie Walters, Jennifer (Eddy) Pozeg; and cherished grandchildren Nicholas, Benjamin, Zoey, Scott and MacKenna. Sadly missed by step-children David James (Jamie) Leask, Stephen (Mandy) Leask and grandchildren Rhyah Dell, Taylor Dell, Kennedy Leask and great-grandchildren Landen and Layla Anderson. Dave’s untimely passing will leave an empty space in the hearts of many relatives and friends in the Netherlands and Canada, especially Cor and Connie Vaandragar and family, Gary (Linda) Robinson, Bonnie (Harold) Borchardt, Lee Moore, Jack Clark and Dave’s extended family at the Church of the Ascension and the community.
Visitation will be held at the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Rd. (1 block east of Egerton St.), on Sunday, April 24th from 7-9pm. A Celebration of Dave’s Life will be held at the Church of the Ascension, 2060 Dundas St. E., on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. (visitation in the church from 1-2pm), followed by a reception to share stories of life with Dave. Cremation has taken place. Private interment at a later date.
