Jim was a gentle man. He always had a smile, a kind word and a big hug for you. He loved fishing, hunting, cooking and gardening, as well as sharing the fruits of his labour with others. He will definitely be missed. Rest in peace Jim. Love always Carmen and Dennis

One of my favourite memories of Jim is when he and Carol came North and spent time at my parents’ place. It was evident that Jim loved being outdoors (in spite of the blackflies and mosquitoes!); he did his best to spend every waking moment outside.
I can clearly picture Jim sitting on the boat with my dad, chatting about anything and everything, neither of them putting up with the other’s…. um… crap, LOL. Dad considered Jim his friend - just like we all did.
And he was a good friend, at that. Jim was funny, kind, quiet and compassionate. He always made me feel like he was on my side, whatever the issue was. I’ll miss that - and his quick sense of humour - most of all.
Like all of you who knew Jim, I am struggling to imagine a world without him. We are certainly the poorer for it.
Always loved, forever missed. ♥️

Well will start with this wall, tried numerous times to leave my thoughts on this site! So I’m the eldest of dad’s 3 children! I will remember soo many memories over my 50 years being my dad’s first born!
We all have different thoughts and expectations of the ones we love! Me I just remember he loved me for all my bad let alone all the good he thought about me(us)
He was kinda of quiet fella I would say !! Less is always more & if you choose your words & think before you speak maybe you’d say nothing at all & that may better.. lol
I could go on and on, remember so many times at grampas & grandmas,
Fort colounge ( Jim’s lac ), him off to portburwell, the cats peeing their patio door(apt), The Graceys farm house, our dog shadow, fishing, shooting, tracking, baiting our own hook, his handsome face, and twinkle in his eye, his soft soft hair, his big strong hands, his red suspenders but most of the way he smelt!!
Love u daddy, & Ty soo much for all you gave easy or not! You have always been my hero, I wonder if you knew that!!! Love u and will miss you always till we meet again, rest easy!!

I so enjoyed Jim’s little quirky sayings when he was describing things, (they always made me laugh)! He always was there in the driveway to greet us with a big smile & open arms. He was always there offering to help us with our parcels & luggage on our “sisters road trips”, but best of all, the big hug he gave each of us before we left to head back to our homes…

I will remember my brother-in law Jim’s big hugs and wonderful smile when walking up the laneway to the house. In all the years I knew Jim, I never heard him raise his voice . I will miss his stories and sense of humor . I admired Jim’s love and tenderness towards Carol . He was a devoted husband . Rest in peace Jim. Sadly missed by Pat and Brian

My Dad will surely be missed by everyone he knew. He had a heart of gold, he was also so proud of us kids and would always be sure to tell us that every time he seen us. His great big bear hugs will be one I will never forget. Also all the times he would take me fishing on the lake up at the cottage. So many amazing memories that will never be forgotten, love you pops, till me again love your baby! ❤️

My condolences to Aunt Carol and Jim’s children and grandchildren. Was so very sad to hear of his passing this past week. He will be missed. I personally will miss the twinkle in his eyes and that devilish grin when he said something funny! Xo Chris
