Obituary of Giuseppe "Joe" Avolio

Peacefully, surrounded by family, at University Hospital on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the age of 77. Beloved husband of Assunta “Susan”. Loving and devoted father of Claudio and his wife Tricia and Pat and her husband Mike Perkovic. Cherished Nonno of Jessica (Ullysses), Zachary (Grace), Marcus, Anthony, Izabella and great Nonno of Xayah and Xaiden.

Joe came to Canada from Italy in 1965 to Pier 21in Halifax. He went back to Italy to marry the love of his life after securing work in Ontario in 1967. Joe loved gardening and always had a smile on his face. He was a very simple man who enjoyed telling stories and being with his family.

Friends will be received at the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Rd. (1 block east of Egerton), on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 9:30 – 11:15 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Santa Cruz Roman Catholic Church, 10 Elm St, London, Ontario (at Hamilton Rd.) on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 11:30 a.m.

Entombment in St. Peter’s Cemetery, London, Ontario.
