Obituary of Shirley Kathleen Collard (née Brock)

It is with great sadness that we announce Shirley’s passing on January 19, 2017 at Elmwood Place. Shirley was the last of her generation; loved by all who were touched by her kind, generous and caring nature. She will be missed. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Bill (1992), her daughter Kathy (2010) and her son Jim (2016). She is survived by sons Bill (Bette) and Tim (Deb); daughter-in-law Marla; grandsons Steve (Dina), Bob (Sonya), Brad (Carla) and TJ; great-grandchildren Holly, Olivia, Julia, Addison, Aria, Milo, Maya and Ana, as well as many nieces and nephews. Special thanks goes out to the amazing staff at Elmwood Place, especially Dr. Carter, Dorcas, Stephen, Lou and Marilyn. Friends will be received at the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Road (1 block east of Egerton Street) on Monday from 12-1pm. Funeral service will follow in the Evans Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
