Obituary of Panagiota Stamoulis
Peacefully, after a brief illness with family by her side, at Parkwood Hospital on November 3, 2023, Panagiota “Pate” Stamoulis, in her 86th year, is re-united with her loving son John. Beloved wife of Thanasi “Tom” Stamoulis for 60 years. Loving mother of Mary (Stado) & the late John Stamoulis (2012). Cherished Yia Yia of Angela (Nathan), Dean (Jenn) and great Yia Yia of Liam & Niko. Beloved sister of George (deceased) (Dina) Preparos, Bill Preparos (deceased), Peter (deceased) (Diana) Preparos, Maria (George – deceased) Michalopoulos, Voula (George) Economou & John (Helen) Preparos. Also survived by many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Born in Akra, Tegea, Tripoli, Greece, Panagiota was educated in cooking & sewing (homemaking) as a young girl. Pate was the last of her siblings to immigrate with her parents to Canada in the Summer of 1959. Arriving by boat in Halifax they then made their journey to London, Ontario by train. In 1963 she married Athanasios Stamoulis and began their life together, devoting her life to her family and those she loved – and Pate loved everyone. Her grandchildren brought joy to her world and were the light of her life. She will forever be remembered for her outgoing spunky personality and Her Memory Will Be Eternal!
Family & friends will be received for visitation from 10-11am on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at the HOLY TRINITY GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH, 131 Southdale Rd. W., London, Ontario. Funeral service will follow in the church on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, London, Ontario. Those who wish may make memorial donations to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in memory of Panagiota. Online condolences can be expressed at www.loganfh.ca
