Obituary of Vassiliki Cardabikis
It is with tremendous sorrow that the family of Vassiliki (Vicky) Cardabikis, announces her peaceful passing on September 20, 2023, at the age of 68.
Vassiliki will be lovingly remembered by her husband and partner in life,
of 49 years, Sotirios (Sam) Cardabikis.
Vassiliki will be forever deeply missed by her daughters Anastasia Kyriakopoulos (Chris) and Eleni Cardabikis (Richard FitzGerald) who will always remember their beautiful mother for her resilience, perseverance, and endurance especially in the wake of unspeakable loss. Vassiliki is predeceased by her beloved son, George (2010), with whom she is now eternally reunited. Vassiliki’s memory will live on forever in the hearts of her two adoring grandsons, Elias and Sotirios. Vassiliki is survived by her brothers and sisters and predeceased by sister Maria (2015) in Greece. She will be remembered fondly by all her in-laws, her nieces, nephews, and godchildren in Greece, Canada, and the U.S.
Vassiliki was born in Neapoli, Greece and immigrated to London, Ontario, Canada in 1974, with her new husband, to pursue their dream and to embark on their lifelong adventure of entrepreneurship. It is here, in London, that together with her husband, Vicky helped build their legacy in the local landmarks Londoners have embraced for over four decades, the Sammy’s Souvlaki food trailers.
Vicky’s unwavering and unconditional love for her family and friends drove all her pursuits. Those who have had the pleasure of crossing paths with Vicky, knew that she worked fiercely and loved deeply. She lived a life of loyalty and generosity and was a role model and pillar of strength for countless women within her Greek community. Her existence and the imprint she leaves on our hearts far exceed the quantity of time that she stayed here on this earth. She will be fondly remembered, missed dearly, and never forgotten
May her memory be eternal.
