So sorry for your terrible loss. Brett was a sweet well behaved toddler when I knew him, 30 plus years ago.
Take care of each other, now more than ever.
Time won't bring Brett back but it will allow you to enjoy his memories more after the pain fades.
Sincere condolences.

I'll never forget the day I walked into west49, it was my first time ever meeting brett. Their was a element skate rail i was admiring , he asked me " if you could do any trick on this rail what would you do" mine was back tail his was back smith.
It was the realest conversation I ever had with someone who worked at a skateshop we instantly became friends. It was a year or 2 later I was hired on and became apart of the west49 family.
Every shift with brett you knew it was going to be a good one. We laughed and skated all over the city. stayed up all night talking about who our favourite skaters, brands, teams, and tricks were.
My deepest condolences go out to his family. I'm so sorry for your loss. He will be watching over all of us.

The impact Brett had on kids at West 49 and at the skatepark was so inspiring. I loved going to work and knowing he was on. Hanging out and becoming friends during college is something I’ll never forget. He welcomed everyone with a smile and open mind. He was always up for a hangout or a retro night at CTO. I’m sending all my love to his closest family and friends, what a terrible time. Rest easy my friend xoxo

Delores, Les and family, I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Brett.
He is an incredible person and I was always so in awe of his unshakable confidence, all of his interests (especially the nerdy ones), and his ability to enjoy life.
I met Brett when I worked at West49 and he brought such positive energy to the store. I learned so much from him.
One of my cherished memory was when he won a Match 3 lottery ticket for $1000.00 on his birthday.
We could not believe it and he wanted to go to East Park and spend it all on Go-Karts with everyone he was with.
We had a great time.
Another great memory was the PokemonGo craze, we would stay up so late chasing Pokemon on our phones. I had my bicycle and he was on a skateboard, we'd spot a Pokemon on our map, he would hold on to my bicycle and I would get us to the destination by Brett being the navigator.
It was always an adventure with him.

I first met Brett buying stickers at West 49 as a kid, he helped me pick out my first pair of Vans (brown and green velcro old schools, they were SICK).
I started working with him when I was 15, he helped me learn to grip a skateboard, fold a crispy tee and that PBR was the only beer to drink.
Whatever Brett said was cool, I believed it. From skate clothes, to bands, to where to hang, I looked to Brett. My compass of for fun - he was down for whatever and would always be there if you called.
Anytime I was complaining he’d hit me with the bright side, it was hard to get him down.
He has been the glue for so many, keeping track of where friends had moved, always the first to call, or come for a visit.
I’ll miss your phone calls to check in and see how I’m doing, I’ll miss dancing to Gob with you, going bowling and laughing until I cry.
Thank you for all of the advice, guidance and joy over the years, I feel so lucky to have known Brett and will miss him for an eternity.
Rest easy cuz buz ❤️

I first met Brett when I was in high school. He had a magnetic personality that he carried with him throughout the years. I always felt like it was a treat to run into him, at west 49, call the office and various other London spots. His charming and welcoming smile, always put a big grin on my own face. I know he will be missed by many, myself included. My condolences to everyone who was lucky enough to have him in their lives.

You left such a positive impression on so many people with your laugh and smile positive outlook on just about everything. Working with you at West 49 just hanging out running into each other at the most random times and places the late-night phone calls, about the most random stuff will truly be missed, no matter how much time passed in-between we could always pick right back up . You will be missed by all ♡

I first met Brett in the mid 2000's around call the office and the embassy hotel, whether it be a show or retro nights on the cto patio he was alway completely hilarious and awesome. Many years later I started working at accuride and was really happy to see a familiar face. Working with Brett these past 5 years has been an absolute privilege. What a wonderful man he was. Always positive, always had something funny to say to keep everyones spirits up. I remember he and Denver would rewrite pop songs they'd sing about all the ridiculous things that would happen at work. I'm going to miss him rolling up on a forklift truck singing "watch me whip, watch me Nay Nay" at me.
The few weeks leading up to his passing, he was actively handing out sign up sheets (he didn't have to) for the accuride family picnic day at East Park. He wanted everyone to ride the go carts with him. That's who he was. He connected people and made them feel a part of things.
He was one of the people that made coming to work a lot better.
We'll all miss you Brett.

We have been friends before people even had cell phones. This was one of my first fb pics. I was going through a rough time and you were right there for me completely non judgemental as usual. This news is absolutely horrific. Brett you were a strong force in this world and everyone around you adored you. You always brought that easy going positive energy. I talk about you often, and I am deviated I have to talk about you in past tense. My love goes to your closest family and friends. I can’t believe I will never see you again. RIP to one of the greatest people I’ve ever met. I’m so sorry Brett. You will be missed immeasurably.

Brett, you were one of my best friends.
I will miss you forever. This is first photo we took playing Pokémon Go, and the last photo we took playing Pokémon Go - August 2016 and May 2023. You knew how to have fun and you never let go of your inner child, which was the best part about you. Thanks for everything. “Okay, I love ya, bye!”

Brett was a kind, loving, genuine person through and through.
It was a pleasure knowing him. We went on a trip to Quebec to a music festival- I’ll always have that trip. I saw him earlier this week, I can still see him clear as day, his bright smile was always a pleasure.
May he rest easy
