Carol and I would like to extend our condolences to the Agothos families. We were frequent patrons of the Huron House restaurant and enjoyed many a delicious meal there. We would like to extend our sympathies to the children and grandchildren of Jimmy that we had in contact with through my years of teaching and coaching at Matthews Hall. May your memories of a wonderful man be a consolation to all of you throughout the future days. Sincerely Al and Carol Kish

Hello Ross, Effie, Peter and Dino:
Not sure how to begin. Ross, you and I played ball together for so many years. And you, Effie with your Mom, Elsa, were so loving to both Karen and Patricia and to our children, Christine, Peter and Stephen. I can't express how much I/we love your family. So many memories over the years with Jimmy. Often when I was on my way home from work I would stop in at the Huron House for a drink. We would end up back at Jimmy's house chipping golf balls up onto the couch followed by a "few" more.
We have so many great memories! Jim was a "very" special man and will be missed by many.
We hope that when we come back to London, we have an opportunity to meet up with you all again.
With Love
Joe & Patricia Stock

Yours truly is very sad to hear that my good friend Jimmy has passed away! Dear Ross, Effie and rest of family, please accept my condolences for your loss of a great man! I was transferred to London in 1978 by my employer RBC Royal Bank to open a new Branch at Huron and Adelaide! I have fond memories of Jimmy being the first customer that I had the pleasure of meeting ! Jimmy proved to be a valued customer of RBC for many years and also a very good friend! I thoroughly enjoyed my relationship with Jimmy and in my opinion he was the smartest businessman that I knew during my 30 year banking career! He was a very strong supporter of London due to many sponsorships of minor sports teams and annual Jimmy’s Corner Charity Golf Tournaments! Yours truly and my staff always looked forward to Jimmy’s weekly visit to the branch as he always left everyone with a smile on their face! Not to forget that Jimmy had strong support from late wife Elsa and kids Ross and Effie! Rest In Peace Jimmy as you have earned it as being an honest , hardworking and generous man for all your life! Sincerely your good old buddy Gerry Forth

Dear family,
I still remember the story of Jimmy when he met a newly arrived immigrant to Canada in the winter, He gave him his leather coat and when the man asked how he could repay the gesture Jimmy told him," when you see a man with no coat give him yours"

Effie and Ross sending condolences to you both and all of your family. I have many memories living next door that are very endearing of your Dad and all of your family. From your Grandpa's garden and wood carvings, your Grandma and Aunt's in the kitchen , Ross big brother, your very beautiful sweet Mom and of course you Effie being little girls hanging out at the restaurant and eating crazy delicious foods at your house. Your Dad always had these great big greetings in the driveway or the Huron House "Hello little lady" in a big booming welcoming voice making me feel special and I am sure so many others. A special, generous man that will be remembered by many. Over the last few years after losing my Mom and Dad within months I find comfort in thinking of them joining all those they loved that passed and especially each other, I hope this may be comforting in thoughts of your father passing. Take Care Janet Bard (nee Clark)

To Ross, Effie, Peter and the entire Agathos family,
May we offer our sincere sympathies and prayers, as you mourn the loss of your father, Jimmy. Jim was a personal friend for many years, a dedicated, hard-working fellow Optimist, and one of my most loyal and committed supporters during my 25 years in elected office.
He was never shy to share his opinions, whether he agreed with you or not, and I always respected his honesty and incredible enthusiasm about many things in life, especially sports, but also politics. He was a true " character" in the best sense of the word, and he was a proud Londoner and Canadian, while forever a son of Greece.
Jimmy made an enormous contribution to London and Canada in so many ways, and I saw first hand several times the effort he put forth to improve his community. He richly deserved the many accolades that he was given over the years. I will always remember Jimmy and Elsa as the loving parents and grandparents they were. Family came first for them.
I know his family is so proud of this good and generous man, and I was blessed to call him my friend for so many years.
Rest in peace Jimmy ! ! !

As a player and coach in the Huron East Athletic Association and student at Montcalm Secondary School it was impossible not to be touched by Jimmy’s generosity and charm both with gestures and actions behind the scenes and overt support of our community. Quite simply he made everything better in our corner of London. My heartfelt condolences to Ross, Effie and all the family.
