Celebration
Obituary of Elaine Burt
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine Burt, our Mother, on May 3, 2023 in her 94th year. Raised on a farm in Enniskillen Township along with 11 siblings, after her marriage in 1948, Mom moved to London where she worked in several jobs while raising a family. She was an active member in St George’s Presbyterian Church for many years and an avid volunteer in numerous organizations. She loved bowling, golf, knitting, woodworking and anything that kept her mind active. In her later years, she had the desire to go back to school and obtained her GED from the same high school where her children had graduated. Without question, Mom was a strong and dynamic woman with a gentle soul and quiet demeanour.
Predeceased by her husband Andrew (2004), she will be sorely missed by her children Sharon (Allen), Andy (Janet), Nancy (John), Deb (Ken), Laurie (Warren) along with 34 grand/great-grandchildren. Our profound thanks to the staff at the London Dearness Home for their unwavering dedication and compassion for Mom. An Open House to celebrate Mom’s life will be held on May 24, 2023, from 2 to 4 at St. George’s Presbyterian Church- lower level (1475 Dundas St.) Memorial donations, if desired, should be made to a charity of your choice. Online condolences can be expressed at www.evansfh.ca
