Obituary
Obituary of Vera Collins
With deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Vera in her 95th year on Monday, February 10, 2014, at The Dearness Home in London, Ontario.
Cherished wife of the late Sam Collins, dearest mother of the late Josephine Cooper (Jack), Sherwood Park, AB; Michael Collins (Cathy) and Susan Wodlinger, all of London. She is survived by her 8 grandchildren, Lisa Sweeney (Dave) and Jason Wodlinger (Gabrielle); Sean, Jessica and Josh Collins; Steven Cooper (Twyla), Naomi Holmes (Will) and Lori Cooper as well as 9 great-grandchildren.
Vera was the most special and loving person in our family, and while her passing has extinguished a bright light, our memories of her will forever light our way. We have been blessed with Vera in our lives, and we will cherish her forever. We wish to thank the palliative care and all the staff of The Dearness Home Walnut Court Unit for making Vera’s final days as comfortable as possible.
Visitation will be held at Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St, London, on Sunday, February 16 from 2 to 4 pm, and a celebration of her life will follow at 7 pm.
Cremation has taken place with a private family interment at Woodland Cemetery, where Vera will join her beloved Sam.
Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and online condolences may be expressed at www.loganfh.ca
A tree will be planted as a living memorial to Vera Collins.
