Obituary of Nettie Shankman

Suddenly at University Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre, London, Ontario, on Monday, March 16,2009, Nettie Shankman in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Leonard Shankman. Much loved mother of Phyllis Steidman (Maxwell) and Linda Chud and the late Dr. Lorne Shankman. Adored and adoring grandmother of Jason Steidman (Genevieve), Jennifer Steidman (John), Joshua Chud (Katie) and Michael Chudnovsky (Amy). Proud great grandmother of Samantha and Nathan. Nettie is survived by her sisters Hilda Greenblatt and Jean Liss (Robert) and many nieces and nephews. A very special woman, she was devoted to her family and friends and passionate about supporting her community. The funeral service will be held at Or Shalom Synagogue, 534 Huron St., on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Rabbi Ammos Chorny officiating. Interment to follow at Or Shalom Cemetery. Shiva will be held at the family residence on Saturday & Sunday, March 21st and 22nd at 7:30 p.m. Donations, if desired, may be made to the Dr. Leonard & Nettie Shankman Foundation, c/o London Jewish Community Foundation, or the charity of your choice.
