Obituary of Norm Bernard
It is with great sadness that the family of Norm Bernard (1926 -2012) inform you that Norm has gone to Heaven to join his brother Syd (November 7, 2011), his parents Rose & Maurice Bernard, his twin sisters Rachael & Ellen (who died in infancy) and many special aunts and uncles.
Norm will be missed by his sister Janet MacKey (Doug), his nephews Mark Huggett (Sandy), Castlegar, B.C.; Brad Huggett (special friend Jo LeClair), Sarnia; Alan Huggett (Patty), Oil Springs; Aaron Ahuvia (Aura), Ann Arbor, Mich. and niece Hannah Bernard-Donals (Michael), Madison, Wisc. step-nieces - Sandi Thornton (Bob), London; Joanne Archer, London and Judy MacKey, Sarnia, many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews (we love you Unc); his many friends in Sarnia, London and Toronto.
Special thanks to the staff and residents at Sumac Lodge for the many kindnesses shown to Norm during his residency; the nursing staff at Bluewater Health in E.R., 3rd floor surgical and 4th floor medical for all the kindness and compassion shown to us, and Dr. Cheong, Dr. Sharma, E.R. doctors and Dr. Gannon.
Norm will be remembered for the many years he worked in his Father's store "Bernard & Son Furniture" and his many years spent in the furniture department at Sears in Sarnia and London. Norm loved to go the movies with his friend Bill Boyd.
A graveside ceremony will be observed at Or Shalom Cemetery, one block east of corner of Wonderland Road & Oxford St., London at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 13. Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St., in charge of arrangements. 519-433-6181.
