Obituary of Mary "Joan" Tanner

Peacefully, after a brief period of illness, Joan Tanner passed away on June 9, 2017, at LHSC University Hospital, in her 87th year. Joan was predeceased by her husband Charles Tanner, her parents Alfred and Jean Tibbs, and her sisters Margaret Gregory and Barbara Tibbs. She is survived by her nephews John and Jim (Susan) Gregory, and her niece Deborah Winslow-Hague. Joan always maintained an active lifestyle with particular fondness for fencing, swimming, and later in life, golf. She had a love for London`s history and sharing its stories. She was loved by many friends who will remember her for having a wonderful sense of humor and always having a joke to tell. At Joan’s request, cremation has taken place. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Special thanks to the amazing staff on the 6th floor of University Hospital.
