I was deeply saddened by the news of Joan's passing. She was a special person to many people. She was my favourite Case Manager when I first started working Home Care. She gave my girls their first barbies (from your girls), she had a cute bug car and she always talked WITH me. May she rest now.

My sincerest condolence go out to you and your family Chris, on the passing of Joan. We worked together at CCAC but before that, even casually in Goderich many years ago. I always enjoyed Joan's unique sense of humour as she was always able to "light up a room." The world will miss such a wonderful woman.

Mary and I are truly saddened to learn of your loss. What a joy Joan brought to everyone around her. Her good humour, her determination, her commitments to her family and friends cannot be forgotten. It surely has been a rough few years - but we know that Joan's keen spirit would have ensured that she packed a lifetime of good times into that space of time, irrespective of her own condition, for her family and all of those close to her. We treasure memories that go back to Mary's early acquaintance through sorority back in the latter '60s. We wish you strength and peace of mind, knowing that she has found comfort at last. We will be dedicating a butternut tree in her memory at the Maitland Grove, behind Maitland Cemetery, east of Goderich, in her name.

I met Joan just over a year ago in the Monday night meditation group. She always had a smile and a hug for everyone. She was a beautiful woman inside and out and it radiated on her face whenever I saw her. May her memory be a blessing to her family and dear friends.

Dear Chris, Colleen, Sean and family members - Catherine and I are deeply saddened at the loss of such a dear friend. Joan was very special to us and we will never forget her. We came to know Joan and Chris through the Goderich Yacht Club and over the past many years there we shared a lot of good times with them. One of the highlights of my life is when Joan, Chris and I took my sailboat "Ananda" down the St. Lawrence River and into the Maritimes together - from Montreal to White Head, Nova Scotia. Joan had a wonderful sense of humour and a wit that could not be matched. So much fun, so many memories.... thank you dear Joan - our lives are much richer for knowing you and being able to call you a friend. We will think of you often and continue to celebrate your life.
