Obituary of Jim Nikolaos Georgopoulos

Peacefully at his residence, surrouonded by his family, on August 15, 2014, Jim Nikolaos Georgopoulos of London. Jim was born on September 29, 1930 in Amykles, Sparta, Greece. Beloved husband of Pat (Alexis) of 54 years. Loving father of Patsy Giannopoulos & her husband John, Nick, George and Bill & his wife Jill. Beloved Papou of Terry & Stephanie Giannopoulos. Survived by his brother William Georgopoulos & his wife Stavroula of London and sisters Toula Solomos and Mando Liossis of Greece. Dear brother-in-law of Hope Kalas (Louie), Jim Alexis (Effie) and Georgina Ioannidis (Gus) all of London. He will be missed by many nieces & nephews who loved their "Uncle Jim". Jim came to Canada in 1951. He worked at Campbell’s Tavern, opened Cosy Restaurant and finally, Talbot Square Steak House in downtown London. Jim was involved in the Greek Community of London throughout his life. Friends will be received at Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St. (between Waterloo & Colborne St.) on Sunday from 6 – 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 131 Southdale Rd. W. on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Father Elias Drossos officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Prayers will be held in the chapel Sunday evening at 8 p.m. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to Parkinsons Society or Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
