My condolences for Joe's passing. He was my law professor at Western in the early 1970's. He pushed his students for excellence, and always put a great deal of effort into his lectures. I also remember him for volunteer camera work at Sunfest where Pat and I saw him on several occasions. He was always witty upbeat and challenging.

Gary and I would like to express our sincere sorrow and heartfelt sympathy to you and the family having lost such a wonderful man as Joe. I have always felt a part of your family as you all made me feel part of the family by including me in so many of your traditional events. Joe was such a positive force and male role model for me as my dad was such a troubled man. We will plan a visit to London soon so we can talk and reminisce. We can feel blessed to have so many happy memories of Joe. Love to You, Mina, Robyn and Noah and their families. Sue and Gary

Dear Pamela, I only heard about you husband yesterday when I saw the notice from the London Club. I want to express my very sincerest sympathy. I really enjoyed my association with Joe over the last few years. We were on a committee together and he also helped me with some issues during my year as President. He was a wonderful, warm and engaging individual. Joe will be missed by all of us. Sincerely, Britta Winther

Dear Pam, I was greatly saddened to read Joe's obituary in the Globe and Mail this morning. I send you and your children my sincere condolences. I have fond memories of Joe. He was a fine colleague at Western Law and a competitive chess player. You and he were also very kind to me after Sandra died, having me over for dinner. I was really touched by that. And of course I remember Noah's circumcision too. The last time I met Joe was when I still lived in London. It would have been in the early 2000s. We were both traveling back from Toronto on the club car and shared wonderful reminiscences of our time as colleagues. I hope that you will be much comforted in the circle of family and friends today and also by the memories of a fine husband and friend. With warm wishes, Albert

Dear Pam: I am so, so sorry. And to think it was only on March 10th that I had the pleasure of sitting at the same table as Joe at the monthly luncheon of the Williams' Group. I am so, so sorry. I can hardly believe Joe and I had lunch together at the same table at the March 10th luncheon of the Williams' Group. Joe has been taken from us far too young. He will be sorely missed. Please permit me to convey to you and to Mina, Robin, and to Noah and to all other members of your family, my most profound and heartfelt sympathy. Most sincerely. Wes of which we are both members. He has been taken far too young.

Please know that I am thinking of you at this time. I will not be home from BC in time for JOE'S Celebration of Life but I send my warm thoughts and best wishes. I can only tell you how much admiration and respect I have for you both for how you have handled this difficult time. Knowing Joe, the only real regrets he may have had is leaving his family. It was my pleasure to have shared time with you both, mainly through our music. I hope I am able to embrace and partake of the goodness of life as much you have.
