Obituary of Hazel Irene Post (Curran) (Merrifield)

Peacefully, at Elmwood Place Nursing Home, on Sunday, November 6, 2011. Hazel (Merrifield) (Curran) Post, of London, in her 105th year. Beloved wife of the late Stanley Post & Jack Merrifield. Predeceased by daughters Betty Pedlar, Shirley Richardson and sons Dick Merrifield & John Merrifield (Betty). Dear mother-in-law to George Pedlar & Jean Merrifield. Dear step-mother of Don Post, Betty McIver, Eleanor Patten & James Post. Loving grandmother to 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren. Hazel raised her 4 young children through the hardship times of the depression after she left her home in Dixon, Illinois, and while her husband was away at war for 6 years during WWII. Funeral mass will be held at St. John The Divine Catholic Church, 390 Baseline Rd. W., on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. (visitation in the church 9-10am) with Father Pio D’Oria celebrant. Interment in Woodland Cemetery. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to St. John The Divine Catholic Church.
