Obituary of George Ghitacos

Peacefully, at L.H.S.C., Victoria Hospital on Saturday, July 7, 2018, George Ghitacos passed away at the age of 82. Beloved husband of the late Catherina Ghitacos. Dear brother of the late Dimitrios Ghitacos (the late Dimitra), the late Basilis Ghitacos (the late Soteria), Christofila Lambrinou (the late Ioannis) and Kyriakos (Magarita) Ghitacos. George will be deeply missed by his nieces Stella Laskaris, Martha Laskaris (Richard Sandig), Betty Laskaris, Kathy Laskaris (Ilias Homsi), and 3 grandchildren Michael, Nicholas and Christopher. Forever in the hearts of many godchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends in Canada and Greece. George was a proud part-owner with Louis Laskaris of the Hideout Restaurant (at Dundas and Crumlin) for over 23 years. Friends will be received at Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas Street, London, Ontario (between Waterloo & Colborne St.), on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 131 Southdale Rd. W., London, Ontario on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Demetrios Chelonis officiating. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, London, Ontario. Prayers will be held Tuesday evening in the Logan Chapel at 8:00 p.m. Those who wish may make memorial donations to the Diabetes Association or Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in memory of Mr. Ghitacos.
