Obituary
Obituary of Peter Theocharis
Peacefully, at his home in Stratford, with family by his side, on Sunday, January 26, 2020. Peter passed away in his 85th year. Loving husband of Andromache (Mahe) for 59 years and father to Sam P. (Mary) Theocharis. Cherished Papou of Peter & Thomas who were his pride and joy. Beloved son of the late Stamatoula & Sotirios Theocharis. Predeceased by his beloved brother John (Maria) Theocharis, Andy (Angela) Theocharis. Peter will be remembered by his nephews Sam J. (Bessie) Theocharis and their daughters Mia & Maggie and John A. (Anna) Theocharis and their daughters Angelica & Andrea and the many relatives in Greece and friends he made in Canada.
Peter was a man of strong ethics and integrity who held and maintained family values to the highest degree. He was born in Argos, Greece in 1935, and like many immigrants during this time immigrated to Canada for a better life in 1959. He first settled in London and then moved to Stratford with his brothers where they operated the Limelight Restaurant and later Woody’s Bar & Restaurant. Peter, along with brothers Johnny (John) and Andy, also operated a real estate business for over 55 years. Peter was an intensely private man who was respected and loved by people across the business community and his acquaintances. He was a hardworking, selfless, honest, and extremely generous man to his family, friends, and the people he loved.
We are extremely grateful to Dr. I. Dhaliwal, Dr. G. Rodrigues and Dr. M. Sanatani of the LHSC. Also, a very special thank you to Dr. Jeremy Thimm and nurse April for the compassionate care they provided.
