I knew Deborah mainly through stories shared by her biggest fans-her family. In particular our two mutual granddaughters. She always struck me as a strong, stoic woman with an "I'll do anything for my family" attitude. Even toned, with a friendly and accommodation nature that pulled me in even when I felt most uncomfortable, I liked her from the first meeting, which was lunch for just the two of us at Nooners. Whenever I saw her, I walked away taking some lesson just from having been with her; from her demeanor, behaviour or from something she had said. I really, really liked this woman - who I knew so little. From stories about her, I got to know her as unflappable, generous, always willing to help and thoroughly devoted to her four granddaughters. I know you have lost a shining star in your orbit and my heart truly aches for you. I wish your whole family only the best and to lean on each other. Somehow, I think she would have liked that.

Deb was a leader. Our law firm would not have started or continued without her guidance. I miss her support and great humour every day. Her dark office beside mine is a constant reminder to me of our loss. And yet the Wilson and Bennet families have lost so much more. My thoughts will be with you George, kids and all of you who depended so much on Deb. Brian.

This is heartbreaking news. Deb was a "one of". Her work ethic and care and concern for those around her was never ending. The impact she had on all our lives was positively life changing. The world has lost a rare person. I am so sorry.

Deb was an extraordinary person, and will be missed by the many, many individuals whose lives she touched. I worked with her for 40 years, we had lunch almost every day for the last 15-20 years, we had the same work ethic, we were a team, I counted on her every day. I miss her very much and my thoughts are with George and the kids and her family.
