Obituary of Evangelia (Eva) Assiouras

Peacefully, after a long illness and courageous battle, at Centenary Hospital, Toronto, on Monday, June 27, 2011, Evangelia "Eva" Assiouras in her 92nd year. Eva was the beloved wife of the late George Assiouras (1996 ). She was born in Garea, Tripoli in Greece. Eva immigrated to Canada and she lived with her family in London, ON. She will be deeply missed by her son Nicholas (Nick) Assiouras of London, brother John Giouroukos and sister Sevasti Michalopoulos, all of London. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Eva was predeceased by her brothers Steve Giouroukos, George Giouroukos, and Sid Giouroukos. Friends will be received at Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas Street (between Waterloo and Colborne St. - please use the King St. entrance) on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 131 Southdale Rd. W on Monday, July 4, 2011 at 11 am with Father Elias Drossos officiating. Prayers held in the chapel at Sunday evening at 8 pm. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Online condolences can be expressed at www.loganfh.ca.
