Obituary of Elias Louis Giannacopoulos
GIANNACOPOULOS, Elias (Louis)
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Elias (Louis) Giannacopoulos, with his family at his side, at University Hospital on Friday, January 13, 2017, in his 73 rd year.
Beloved husband of Helen, loving father of Christine and her husband Christos Vitsentzatos, Panayiota and her husband Vasilios Markanastasakis, and Christos. Cherished papou of George, Eleni, Julianna and Nicholas. Dearest brother of Pericles, Dimitra and her husband Gregory Kalogeros, and Eugenia and her husband Georgios Reppas of Greece, brother-in-law to Dimitrios and Maria Papadopoulos of Greece, Stamatis and Doreen Galanes of Chicago and Evaggelos and Georgia Iliopoulos of Greece. Caring uncle to many nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents, Christos and Chrysoula Giannacopoulos of Greece.
Louis, like so many of his generation, left the only home he knew in Greece to come to Canada to start a new and prosperous life for his family. Louis worked tirelessly at his many business ventures in the London area. "Theio Louie" was also an anchor and cornerstone to his extended family. He was a pillar in the Greek community, and a faithful servant of the Lord. May he be granted eternal rest and peace.
