Obituary of Lynda Evadine Pomfret
Peacefully, at Parkwood Hospital on Thursday, December 6th, 2007, Lynda Evadine at the age of 96. Predeceased by her husband Ernest (1963); also her parents Samuel Albert Alexander and Mary Ann Elizabeth Graham of England; her six brothers and five sisters. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and will be fondly remembered by many friends. Lynda did her nurses training at Royal Portsmouth Hospital, Portsmouth, England receiving her R.N. certificate in 1951 and also received a certificate in 1942 for Ophthalmic nursing and in 1953 for Midwife. Lynda came to Canada in 1955 where she continued to practice her profession. Prior to her retiring in 1976 she did several years of Private Nursing. At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Lynda was a dedicated member of St. Paul’s Cathedral where a service to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Lynda are asked to consider the Canadian Cancer Society, 123 St. George St., London, N6A 3A1 or St. Paul’s Cathedral, 472 Richmond St., London, N6A 3E6.
