Obituary of Group Captain E.J. McLeod
On Friday, December 5, 2003, at 2 p.m. a memorial service will be held for Group Captain E.J. McLeod at St. Paul's Cathedral, London, Ontario. Elmer interrupted his first year of U.W.O. to enlist in the R.C.A.F. in 1940. After getting his wings, he quickly rose in rank and taught in and later commanded different flying schools. After the war he re-enlisted and served in Great Britain, Germany, France and the United States. When he retired in 1967, he was a Director of the Canadian Cadets. He used his administrative talents next as Awards Officer and Director of Alumni Affairs at U.W.O. Upon his retirement he helped found 614 Air Cadet Squadron in London. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to the 614 Squadron and Cancer Research.
