Obituary of John Francis Nicholson

Peacefully, at his home, on May 4, 2016, John Francis Nicholson passed away in his 84th year. He was predeceased by the love of his life, Patricia (nee Millard, 2011) Nicholson, his wife of 44 amazing years. He leaves behind his loving children Karen (Gerry) Healey, Charles, Gary (Phyllis), and Greg. John will be missed by his 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, his in laws Hazel Nicholson, Tommy (Ellen) Millard, Don (Mariane) Millard, Gordon Knight, Kaye Millard, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Nicholson, and his 5 brothers and 9 sisters. Born in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia, John was the youngest of 15. He spent 40 years working for Kellogg's. John and Pat enjoyed many winters in Arizona and summers both with friends and family in Nova Scotia, and here at home, making their much loved preserves. John was an avid hunter, fisher, and golfer, while Pat enjoyed spending her time making things just so; her artistic hands made everything beautiful. As per John's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at a later date.
