Obituary of Susan Somerville McEllister
Peacefully, on May 3rd, 2019 Susan McEllister passed away at Victoria Hospital, London. Susan was born on September 24th, 1947 in Edinburgh Scotland.
Predeceased by her husband Bill McEllister (May 3rd, 2012) and her parents Susan (Turner) Hutchison & David Hutchison. Loving mother of Veronica McEllister (Wes), Tim McEllister & daughter in-law Kim McEllister. Cherished grandmother of Lee-Ann McEllister (Tomek) and Lamanda McEllister (Brandon). Great-grandmother of Julian, Cjay & Harley-lynn. Loving sister of Robert Hutchison (Georgina), David Hutchison (Alanna), Vivian (Alistair), Guy (Nicki), Morley (Bev) and Mary (Dick).
Susan loved to volunteer in her spare time with the Arthritis Society, Parkinsons Foundation and multiple church charities; she had a strong sense of community service.
Susan was also a huge supporter of Bill’s teams and loved to spend time on the baseball diamond with Bill.
A special thank you to the staff at Parkwood and the dialysis unit at London Health Sciences Centre for their ongoing support, compassion and friendship towards Susan and her family.
As per Susan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday May 7th at 11:00 a.m. at Richards Memorial United Church, 360 Edgeworth Ave., London with visitation 1 hour prior. Reception following service at 12:30 p.m. at the Donnybrook Royal Canadian Legion Branch, 1227 Donnybrook Dr. Dorchester. Those who wish may make memorial donations to The Kidney Foundation or the Arthritis Society in memory of Susan. Online condolences can be expressed at www.evansfh.ca
