Obituary of Robert Joseph Nesbitt

Robert Nesbitt passed away on January 31, 2022 at the age of 74 at St. Joseph’s Hospice in London. Born in Dublin, Ireland and the youngest of 9 children, he was the baby of a big family in Whitehall. He is survived by his sister Pauline Canny (Paddy) and many nieces and nephews. Robbie grew up playing football with his friends and family and became quite an athlete, winning the FAI Junior Cup in 1976 with Whitehall Rangers, it is the largest national amateur football cup competition in Europe. Bob left school early to start his career as a carpenter, working with his brother Eddie all over Dublin. He eventually finished his career working in the carpenter shop at Victoria Hospital in London. Bobby immigrated to London Ontario in 1989 to find a better life for his family. He was the proud father of Andrew (Jenna) and Edward, taking them wherever he could, even places he shouldn't have. He taught them how to be young men, the importance of family, how to play football, and how to enjoy a pint of Guinness. Grandpa to his grandson Colin and Grandad to his granddaughters Lucy and Jewel. Da to his boys. He will be dearly missed. Visitation & sharing of memories will be held at the Logan Funeral Home on Saturday, February 12th from 2 – 4 p.m. (Sharing of memories will take place from 3:30 - 4 p.m.).
