Obituary of Brian Shanfeld

Passed away heroically and peacefully at University Hospital in his 61st year on Tuesday, February 7, 2012. He will be sorely missed by his brothers Irving and Leon, his sister-in-law Louise, his nephew Martin, his niece Leah and many life long friends and relatives. Brian was born to Samuel and Rebecca in 1952 and attended Aberdeen Public School, Wheable High School and graduated in Engineering at Western University. He worked briefly in Toronto until he returned to London to teach. He had physical ailments which dominated the later years of his life. Prior to this, he was an outstanding athlete and excelled in hockey. Over the past several years, he was hospitalized many times, but always recovered until this past few weeks when he was unconscious and finally his mental and bodily functions shut down. Appreciation goes to University Hospital, the many doctors and nurses who cared for him over the years, and Kensington Village Nursing Home. At his request, no public service was held.
