Obituary of Cecylia Wennyk

Peacefully went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Friday November 23, 2018 surrounded by her family at home in Waterloo Ontario in her 74th year. Beloved wife of 54 years to Dimitro (Mitch) Wennyk. Dear mother of Greg (Kim) Wennyk of Waterloo. Devoted grandmother of Nathanael Wennyk and Natalie Wennyk of Waterloo. Loving sister of Boleslaw Studzienny of London, Kazimierz (Wladyslawa) Studzienny of Toronto, Mary (Tony) Mishchenko of St. Marys and sister in-law of Stefania Studenny of Strathroy. Forever in the hearts of many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents Mikolaj and Anastazja, brother Michal, sister Stefania and sister in-law Stanislawa. Cecylia was born in Tarnopol Poland and grew up in Legnica Poland. In May 1962 Cecylia along with her family immigrated to Canada through the port of Montreal, settling in London, Ontario. She met Dimitro in London in 1963 and they married the following year. They moved to Milton, Ontario for a short time before returning to settle in London Ontario. In 2017 Cecylia and Dimitro moved to Waterloo to be closer to family. Visitation will take place at the Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas Street, London, Ontario (between Colborne & Waterloo St.) on Thursday November 29, 2018 from 7-9 p.m. as well as 1 hour prior to the funeral service which will be conducted on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Those who wish, may make memorial donations to the Mennonite Central Committee in memory of Cecylia Wennyk.
