Obituary
Obituary of Panayote Frangakis
Peacefully, with family by her side at L.H.S.C., University Hospital on Sunday, December 30, 2018, Panayote Frangakis of London and formerly of Greece.
Beloved wife of Demetrios for 63 years. Loving mother of Anastasios (Kathleen) & Louis (Juliane). Cherished Yia Yia of Erinn, Alexis, Chad, Shelby, Callie and 2 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Eleni (Demetrios). Predeceased by brothers Georgios, Lykourgos and Fotis.
One of five siblings from a small village in southern Greece. Pipitsa as she was commonly known, grew up with a very strong sense of family and community. After marrying and having two sons she adored, the family took on the challenge of moving to a new country. Once landing in London Ontario, (via Leamington, Montreal, and Windsor) the family worked hard to build a new life, she would frequently tell people that she moved here to give her sons a better education . She was always known for making people feel welcome, if you ever stopped in for a visit you had better be prepared to eat. She enjoyed company and her kitchen was rarely empty, or quiet. Faced with some very tough struggles in life, she was able to see things through with a strength of character and will that amazed others. Always close to family and involved in the Greek community she could be counted on to help out when and where ever needed. She liked gardening and people would often slow when passing the house on Fuller St. to admire her giant sunflowers, some reaching 10-12 ft. Her greatest joy was her family and most especially her grandchildren as could be evidenced by the many photos all around.
