Obituary of Pashalis (Pat Papas) Papaioannou

Peacefully, after a brave and courageous illness, on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at McCormick Home, Pashalis Papaioannou passed away at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Jasmine Papaioannou. Loving father of Despina Oosterhoff (Frank). Dear step father to Humberto Leong & Kerry Leong. Papou of Christian & Lauren. Brother of John and Antoni. Predeceased by his parents Dimitris & Despina Papaioannou and siblings Theoharis, George and Christos. Forever in the hearts of many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Pashalis was born in Anavra, Greece in 1941 and served in the Greek Navy where he shared his talents as a photographer and barber. Pashalis came to Canada in 1966, he loved people and food and was the proud owner of the Hi-Fi Restaurant, Papa's Drive-In Restaurant and the L & P Family Restaurant. Pashalis was also a devoted and talented barber and put his skills to use at his barbershop in Northland Mall. Pashalis was most known as the "Papa" in Papa's Food Equipment, a business that was very dear to his heart. He was an extremely generous, hard working man with a loving, kind nature and will be fondly remembered by all those who knew him. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Dale Wilson, Dr. Janet Wilson, Dr. Mary Jenkins, Dr. Derek Tai, Nancy Griffiths, NP and all the staff of McCormick Home and previously Country Terrace for all their care and support. The family would also like to thank Marc Plimmer, Alex & Adrienne Whitelaw, Shelley Plasket and Teresa Karbowniczek of CPS Support Services for their exceptional one on one care for Papa. Visitation will be held at Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas Street, London, Ontario (between Waterloo & Colborne St.), on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 6-9 p.m. Prayers will be conducted in the Logan Chapel Tuesday evening at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 131 Southdale Rd. W., London, Ontario on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Demetre Mouselimis officiating. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, London, Ontario. Those who wish may make memorial donations to the Parkinson's Society Southwestern Ontario or McCormick Home in memory of Pashalis.
