Obituary
Obituary of Emanuele Gerardo "Gerry" Liotti
Peacefully surrounded by the love of his daughters on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, Emanuele, in his 93rd year, was called by his Lord to eternal life. Predeceased by his wife of 59 years Nina (née Marra) (2013).
Born in Volturara Irpina, Italy in 1929, son of the late Pasquale and Rosa (Ingenio). He immigrated to Canada in 1956 and was proud to have been known as a true artisan of his craft having contributed to building his community as a London contractor for three decades. He loved to be outdoors; hunting, fishing or just taking in the beauty of nature and was a musician, playing the clarinet for many years. He was nick-named "Mr. Frank Sinatra", with his piercing blue eyes, classy demeanour, dapper attire and smooth moves on the dance floor, forever a gentleman.
Cherished "Papà" to Elenor (Angelo) Di Lullo, Rosemary Naraine (late Geary) and Linda Liotti (Glenn Dobie). "Nonno" to Michael Di Lullo (Trista), Nadia (Kyle) Simpson, Stefanie (Kyle) Welsh, Alyssia, Briana and Victoria Naraine and special "Big Nonno" to Colton, Braedan, Nolan, Nina and Elyse. He is survived by his sister Esterina Marra (late husband Angelo), best hunting buddy and brother-in-law Salvatore Pennetti (late wife Immacolata) and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by siblings Elenora Liotti, Ida Petretta (late husband Olindo), Luigi Liotti (Rosa), Elvira Lomazzo (late husband Gerardo) and Ermelinda Meo (late husband Antonio).
Heartfelt thanks to his "bella" Alina and the 4th floor staff at Earl’s Court Village who cared for him so lovingly. He was blessed to have had exceptional and compassionate care by Dr. Susan McNair, his attending physician. Also, a very special thanks to Flavia and Nina who always managed to put a smile on his face.
Sincere thanks to the LHSC- University Hospital 4th floor Internal Medicine Team 2 staff and the Palliative Care Team lead by Dr. Harris-Schultz, for their care in his final days.
