Obituary of Eva F. McKee (née McFarlane)
Peacefully, in her 97th year, on November 16, 2022 at Marian Villa, Mount Hope Centre, London, Ontario where she received exemplary care. Beloved wife of the late Archie McKee (2009) for almost 54 years. Dear mother of Dean (Katharine) of Burlington and Rev. Keith (Jan) of London. Very special grandmother of Heather. Sister of Dean McFarlane of Eganville, Ontario. Predeceased by her parents J. Stewart and Jessie (née Sharpe) McFarlane, her brothers Campbell, David, Murray, and Donald and her sister Jessie Andrews. She is remembered by many nieces and nephews, including Donna (Wayne) Bates whom Eva loved dearly.
Eva grew up on a farm in the Ottawa Valley and in her later years spoke often her youthful adventures. Marriage to Archie in 1955 took her first to Wardsville and then Elmira, Ontario. Eva was an active member of Gale Presbyterian Church. She loved to garden and bake and took pride in her home. A cancer survivor, she took part in many Terry Fox runs and received the Helen Keller Award by the Lions Club. A year after Archie's sudden death in 2009, Eva moved to London, Ontario, residing until 2020 at Windermere on the Mount. She spent the last two years of her life at Marian Villa.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service, conducted by the Reverend Dr. Andrew Fullerton, will be held at St. George's Presbyterian Church, 1475 Dundas Street, London on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Masks are encouraged.
