Obituary
Obituary of Emmanuel "Sam" Bernard Sambrano
Emmanuel (Sam) passed away peacefully at the age of 94 at LHSC, Victoria Hospital.
Born in Biche, Trinidad to George and Isabella Sambrano, he was a teacher in the Biche Mission School, President of the Catholic Youth Organization and a choir member. He joined the Port of Spain CYO and after working for the Chaguaramas Bauxite Company, he furthered his education with bookkeeping and typing courses. This provided an opportunity for him to move to London, England, where he worked for the prestigious Moss Brothers clothier for 10 years. During this time he was active playing cricket and table tennis and he also started his family. His next move was to Quebec and eventually Ontario where he worked for Texaco for 20 years as the Stationer. When Texaco was sold to Esso in 1989 he took early retirement and spent 13 years in Florida before relocating to London, Ontario.
Emmanuel is survived by his wife Audrey of almost 38 years; children Angela Smith, Michael Sambrano and Kevin Sambrano; grandchildren Shannon Smith, Candice Ross, Georgia Sambrano and Aria Sambrano; great grandchildren Scarlett Ross and Isaac Ross; plus siblings, many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
Sam touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was an avid sports fan, with tennis and baseball being two of his favorites. He coached soccer and proudly displayed his numerous trophies. Solitaire was his favorite card game. In later years he battled many health issues but by his stubborn nature faced the challenges head on and led a full and rewarding life.
