So very sorry to hear of Al's passing.I used to go in to visit once in a while, and we would start talking about anything and everything,it was always a good time. I bought two sets of furniture over the years from him,one set back before he sold directly to the public. Both sets wore like iron. We met at the old Califonia Health Spa when it was still at Oxbury Mall, probably 25 years ago,and kept in touch since then. Again my condolences on your loss, and my thoughts are with you. Barbara, It was with great sadness that I learned of Alan's untimely passing. I first met him 25 yrs ago as a student at Fanshawe. I was teaching the math component of Harold's upholstery course. I remember noticing him as a bight upbeat person who always had a smile on his face. I could sense the fun entrepreneurial spirit in him. In 2001 Harold and I reconnected with him when I was opening a restaurant with my wife. Alan would not hear of us paying anything above cost! In reminiscing with Harold we both remembered his generosity of spirit, whether to help out a fellow student, a friend, or someone in need of a hand up. I want you to know that I am thinking of you and your children at this very difficult time and I hope you know that I held Alan in the very highest regard. Bob Latham

Dear Mrs. Klein, I had the pleasure of doing business with your husband at the Nightingale store; so pleased were we with a first purchase, back we came for something else later...in no small part because your your husband was always there with a ready smile to greet everyone who entered. He seemed to truly love his work, and he appeared very proud of your contributions, which he often mentioned during transactions. We want to extend sincere sympathy to you & your family at this sad time. May God be with you on this new journey, Judy-Marie Watson & Family.

Barb I was shocked to read about Alan and of course wish to send my deepest regrets and condolences to you and your family. I have not seen either one of you since my retirement but I always considered both of you to be more friends than clients. I am presently on vacation in Mexico and won't be returning until March. If there is anything that I can do upon my return on either a business or a personal basis, please let me know and I will be pleased to assist in anyway that I can. Once again, sincere condolences from myself and Yvonne.

I knew Alan for my whole life. He used to tell people that I was the first newborn that he ever saw, back in 1966. Alan's parents used to live beside my grandparents (Louie and Rae kamien) and he always came over, out of his way, to spend a little time with me when I was there visiting. Alan always had time for me as an adult too. Alan helped me a few times with furniture purchses over the years as my family changed too. Wow, I am completely saddened to hear of his passing. I will truly miss him. I hope you find strength during this tough and sad time. My heart goes out to your family. Alan was a great guy...
