Obituary of Antonio (Tony) Esteves
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Antonio Joaquim Esteves. Tony was at home, surrounded by his family when he left us on Tuesday, July 15th, 2014, at the age of 78.
Born in 1936 in Cardanha, Portugal, Tony made his way to Brazil in his mid-teens and came to Canada in the late 1950’s earning the nick name "Tony Brasillero" by his friends in the London-Portuguese community.
Loving and loyal husband of nearly 50 years to Mary Barbara (nee Cowle).
Hero of a father to Kyla (Mike), Selina (Jeff), Antony and Andrea.
Will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Ethan and Hudson.
Pre-deceased by his parents Alfredo and Capitulina (nee Sa) and his brother Alfredo (Lourdes).
He will be deeply missed by his surviving siblings, Manuel (Connie), Branca (Herminio- deceased), Teresa, Clarisse (Manuel) and Aurelia (Antonio).
A celebration of Tony’s life will be held at Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St., (between Waterloo & Colborne St.) on Saturday, July 26th, 2014. A Memorial Service will take place promptly at 1:00 p.m. in the Logan Chapel.
Cremation has taken place.
If desired, donations to London Health Sciences Foundation directed to cancer research would be appreciated by the family.
