Obituary of Alan Alexander Russell

Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, on Sunday November 28, 2021, Alan passed away in his 87th year. Loving husband of Madeleine (née Murdock) for 49 years; father of Alana (Edward) Lees; Steve (Venessa) Russell; and grandfather of Julian & Alexa Lees. Predeceased by his parents Millie & David Rosenberg of London, England and his brother Leon Russell and his family. Alan will be fondly remembered by the Murdock Family; Alice, Sonny, Graham, Greg & Ruth and their families. Over the course of his 40 plus years in Sales and Marketing, Alan left an indelible mark on the Beauty Industry with some of his most memorable experiences at Clairol Canada, Schwarzkopf Canada and as President of Fermodyl Canada. Though his work took him all over North America, he seamlessly managed to balance his duties as a leading executive and devoted father, husband and friend. Wherever life took Alan, people naturally gravitated to him. His quick wit always filled a room with laughter and his genuine and compassionate nature instantly put people at ease. He was generous with his time and his heart and was fiercely loyal and devoted to those he loved. Alan Alexander Russell will be fondly remembered and missed by his family, friends, colleagues and all whose life was touched just by knowing him. A Celebration of Alan's Life will be held at the Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St., London, ON, on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Restmount Temple Israel Cemetery, London. All friends and family are welcome. A reception will be held at his daughter’s residence in west London following the ceremony. Details will be provided on the day.
