Obituary of Sarah Mae Smith
With sadness in our hearts, and happy memories in our minds, we must announce the passing of Sarah Mae Smith, of Chatham. Peacefully, in her 78th year. Sarah Mae died on Wednesday April 7, 2004 at Mt. Hope-Marian Villa, London. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness and sense of humour by the many lives she touched. Her energy, and positive outlook on life stayed with her till the end, and in turn, will stay in the hearts of all her friends and family. Sarah Mae, you will never be forgotten. Predeceased by her husband Harold (1994), parents Harry & Irene Holmes, and sister Margaret Hainsworth. Sadly missed by her children Larry Smith, Mina L'Ecuyer, and Albert Steven Smith. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Sheena, Niki, Jesse, John, Rochelle, and her 7 great-grandchildren. Sarah Mae will also be greatly missed by brother-in-law Bob Hainsworth, niece Rory & Mike Hurlock and their children Robert, Vernon, Jason, Jeremy and Amber. Special Thanks to Regina & Jerry Bernard for being great friends and Susan L'Ecuyer for providing amazing friendship and care. Visitation will be held at the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Rd., London, (1 block east of Egerton), on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday April 10, 2004, at 10:30 am with Rev. Charles Scott officiating. Interment to follow at 1pm in Morpeth Cemetery (south of Ridgetown). Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences can be expressed at www.evansfh.ca .
