Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, October 25, 2004 at 2 p.m., Shirley Chowen, in her 73rd year. Beloved wife of Robert. Loving mother of Brenda, Mel, Wayne and Mary Lou. Proud grandma of Scott, Eric, Chelsea, Cassandra, Shane, Tammy and Tracey and great grandma of Austin, Dustin, Carver, Payten, Mason, Darian, Lauren, and Colton. Sister of Lynn Thomas of Victoria, B.C., Mel Thomas and Maynard Thomas of Vancouver, B.C. and Dorothy Kirkland of Calgary. Shirley is predeceased by her son Bobby (1971), daughter Bonnie (1985), parents Matilda and Joe Thomas, sisters Delrose, Valerie, Adeline, Arbie, Rosevine and her brother J.D. Friends will be received at the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Rd. (1 block East of Egerton St.) on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, October 29th, at 11 a.m. with Father Terrence McNamara officiating.
