Obituary of Pearl Lonsdale
After a courageous battle against colon cancer, Pearl was promoted to be with the angels and saints on Monday, January 24th 2011, in her 68th year.
Pearl loves life, and was an active member of London First Church of the Nazarene, where she was on the Praise Team and handled the Missionary Library. Involved in several volunteer ministries, she made regular visits to patients at Parkwood and was active in several organizations and groups including the Boys and Girls Club, Parkwood Hymn Sing, Dearness Home and Extendicare. Previous to her volunteering, Pearl operated The Lucky Dip store on Hamilton Road.
Beloved wife of Thomas Lonsdale (predeceased 2005) and loving Mother to Wayne Thomas (Ottawa), Geoffrey Ian, Greg Alan and his wife Barbara (all of London) and Paul Lonsdale (Shanghai, China), and their sister Christina (predeceased, 1963), Pearl was the much-loved daughter of Rosie and her late husband Danny (Belfast, Ireland). A cherished Grandmother to Xavier Adrian, Pearl will be deeply missed by her extended family and friends in Ireland, especially her sister, Mary.
Friends and family are invited to the Visitation and Funeral Service, to be held at London First Church of the Nazarene, 176 Wellington Street (at Grey) on Saturday, February 5th, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Junior Sorzano officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 – 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Donations to London First Church of the Nazarene, Compassion Canada, Samaritan’s Purse, or Life Outreach International, Pearl’s favourite charities, are appreciated by the family.
