Obituary of Roy Marquis Geddes
Peacefully, after a long battle with many health problems, at Meadowpark Nursing Home on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, Roy Marquis Geddes, at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband of 61 years of the late Ruth Geddes (nee Steedman) (June 2008). Cherished father of Alan & his wife Dorothy of St. Thomas, Brian & his wife Donna of Kitchener and Marilyn & her husband Dan Walton of London. Devoted grandfather of Jeff, Michael (deceased), David, Beth, Christopher and Eryn and great-grandfather of Hayley, Jesse, Hannah, Ashlyn, Emily, Wesley and Megan. Loving brother-in-law of Doris & her husband John Bryant of London and George Steedman & his wife Penny of London. Predeceased by parents Wesley & Maud Geddes (nee Johnson) and brothers & sisters; George, John, Clayburn, Walter, Lillian Garlick, Helen Walker & Dorothy Geddes. Roy was very involved as an executive of the London Horticultural Society and was extremely proud of being awarded a lifetime membership. Roy was formerly a longtime resident of Oak Street and was the last local home delivery “Milkman” for Silverwoods Dairy. "Roy The Milkman" will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. Friends will be received at the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Road (1 block east of Egerton), on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Evans Chapel on Friday, August 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Grove Cemetery.
