Mary had been a good neighbour and friend to our family from the time we moved to London in early 1970's. As we were new parents at that time, Mary saved our childrens' lives on more than one occasion. Her husband, Bill, once commented that no one has so many friends that they can ever afford to lose even one. While we celebrate Mary's long and generous life, her passing emphasizes those words.
