Obituary of William "Bill" Samuel Board
William (Bill) Samuel Board, 84 years young, of London, ON, passed away on December 12, 2021 at LHSC, Victoria Hospital.
Bill was born on March 31, 1937 to Cyril & Dorothy Board in Ingersoll, ON. After graduating from Ingersoll Collegiate Institute, he went straight on to his first and only job joining London Life in London, ON as a clerk in the mail room. Several promotions and many years later, Bill retired from the company. Not quite Freedom 55 but pretty darn close.
In 1964, Bill was married and went on to having two children, Michael & Janis. Janis married and went on to give him the absolute joys of his life, his grandchildren, Eric, Pearce, & Nikki. Bill was a home body, determined to support his family in any way possible and due to the early age of his retirement was able to visit Kitchener quite frequently where his grandchildren lived or have them come for a visit in London. He always tried his best to support them and Janis in any way possible.
If Bill was not with his family in his retirement years, he could be found at "the club" where he would have met with friends, joined the drama club, swam, and played cards and bingo. Bill took an active part in all aspects of the club during his time there. Anyone who knew Bill would know that he was one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet.
Bill was predeceased by Gail Board (Wife & Best Friend), Cyril Board (Father), Dorothy Board (Mother), and Robert Board (Brother). He is survived by his children Michael Board and Janis McKenzie as well as his grandchildren Eric, Pearce, and Nikki McKenzie. Bill will be dearly missed by many, a special thanks to Cindy Brown for her love, friendship, and support in this time.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be scheduled for close friends and family in the near future.
Donations to the Boys’ & Girls' Club of London Foundation would be appreciated.
Arrangements entrusted to Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Rd., London, Ontario (519-451-9350).
